Two hikers reported missing in Yosemite National Park after going on day hike Saturday

Two people were reported missing at Yosemite National Park in California on Sunday.
According to park officials, the hikers, identified as Ana Rodarte and Miguel Delgado, went on a day hike "possibly toward Ostrander Lake" on Saturday morning around 10 a.m.
The duo left from Bridalveil Creek Campground and were expected to return within a few hours "but are overdue," officials said.
Rodarte, 40, is described as a Hispanic woman with brown hair and eyes. She's 5'7, 198 pounds, and was last seen wearing green pants or jeans, a blue cap, and a gray windbreaker jacket.
Delgado, 63, is a Hispanic man with black hair and brown eyes. He is 6'1. 160 pounds and was wearing an orange t-shirt, tan pants, a brown jacket, and a backpack.
Park officials noted, "Please contact the National Park Service with any information by calling 888-653-0009 or by emailing nps_isb@nps.gov."
National Parks:Of the 63 national parks, these had the most fatalities since 2007.
Other missing hikers at Yosemite
According to KTLA, Yosemite has been one of the more popular parks in the state throughout the years with the most reports of missing people. The National Park Service has a page on its website asking travelers to help find other people reported missing. The list includes:
- Joel Thomazin: In 2021, he took a solo hike from Hetch Hetchy to fish in the Lake Eleanor area. He could have extended his trek to Cherry Lake or the Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne River. He had an array of equipment, including a bright red inflatable kayak, a bright green mummy sleeping bag, and a fishing pole.
- Sandra Johnsen-Hughes: She was last spotted near Chiquto Pass Trailhead in July 2020. She is 54, 5'3, with brown eyes and brown hair. Officials say she was camping solo in the Sierra National Forest and crashed her car, refusing help from other drivers. Her sleeping bag was found about 2.5 miles from the accident site.
- Peter Jackson: He is a 74-year-old man, 5'10, 155 pounds, with gray hair and beard, who went missing in 2016. Officials say he went on a day hike from White Wolf Campground, where his vehicle was found. His blue outdoor daypack was discovered in 2019 between Aspen Valley and Smith Peak.
